T boxes could use alittle work in some holes but all in all had an amazing experience Read The Review 5/18/20 - Stonebridge Golf Club , Review by BetterThanMost "Great course" Played Stonebridge this morning before all the rain we're supposed to get this week. NOTE: They punched the front nine, so only the back nine is open and you are playing it twice. I imagine that they'll do the same to the back nine at some point in the next couple of weeks. The course was in great shape. Fairways have greened up nicely. Teeboxes were a little beat up in spots, but nothing terrible. Greens were in fantastic shape and rolled really, really well. I didn't hit into any bunkers, so I can't comment on those, other than to say they looked fine. Read The Review 5/16/20 - Edgewater Golf Club , Review by BirdiesandFlies "Great course" My first review on the site! Edgewater is a great course within the greater Charlotte region. It's over an hour from my house (as it is for most), but I never mind the beautiful drive south through cow pastures and country roads. Once you pull into the Edgewater community, you feel like you are at a true golf destination. Upon parking, one of the staff members immediately brings a cart to your tailgate to load up your clubs. Currently, the clubhouse is closed due to COVID restrictions, however the walk-up window is a very convenient alternative to going inside. In terms of the course itself, the conditions were great! The greens were aerated last month, but they have grown and are rolling nicely. They have A1/A4 Bent grass green that always seem to roll true. The collars around the greens could use some attention which made putts off the green a tad unpredictable. Fairways and majority of the tee boxes were in great shape. The layout is fantastic (front is easier than the back) and Edgewater is a true challenge to your golf game- check it out, it's worth the trip! Read The Review 5/13/20 - Red Bridge Golf & Country Club , Review by The B-Man "Great course" I'll first say that I love the layout here -- and not just because I almost shot par today for the first time in my playing career! Five par 5's (including back-to-back on the front 9), five par 3's, several short par 4's, the namesake bridge, a mammoth par 5 closing hole, quick Bermuda greens, value-priced greens fees. There's a lot to love about this course if you are willing make the drive out to Stanly County and the little town of Locust. For the past season or so though, the conditions outside of the greens have deteriorated, I'm sad to say. The fairways had tons of crabgrass patches and divots. I had several terrible lies in the middle of the fairway due to this. There was also crabgrass on the collars and just off the greens, which made those delicate putts from just off the green very unpredictable. The tee boxes were chewed up with very little grass and not just on the par 3's. The greens themselves were good. They had been top-dressed with sand recently but didn't affect play. They were rolling quick and true. And though I did miss a couple of short putts I won't blame the greens. I had this in my Top 10 last year and I came back to play today to see how it was shaping up. Have to say I was disappointed overall. This is a top 5 layout saddled with average conditions outside of the greens. Hopefully it will round back into shape by next season.
